Life's Like That

I am back....

And this is what I have been doing...

At the sangeet, contrary to everyone's expectations, the Bongs danced like there was no tomorrow while the Punjus sat demurely and looked on. My finace vanished after the ring ceremony and I wandered around smiling vaguely at people...that, at least, was expected.

Yellow is not really my colour is it?

My whole family left me alone inside to go and witness the remarkable spectacle of Rahul on a horse. He claims that the horse was drunk. Im just glad I have this picture for posterity..heh.

This part of the wedding is really hard on the arms. They ache after a point.

And having one's hands pinched under the cloth by the man one is marrying, really does not help matters.

WHY do Bengalis (read ghotis not bangals) put soooo much sindoor on the bride!! I had sindoor all over . My nose was red at the end of it...Someday I shall post the picture of me looking exactly like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.

And that was that :)

  • Congrats Ron. Nice pics - would love to see a bong rudolf tho :)

  • Congrats Ron! Both of you. And you look awesome together. And as for the sindoor it is because of what they use to put the sindoor on (like darpan or sindoor kouto) Enjoy. And what about the honeymoon? Where did you go?

  • Welcome back! Congrats! I've couple of big meetings coming up. I may not start writing before May. I also did a terrible job while putting sindoor. After all we don't get to practice beforehand.

  • @ everyone :Thank you thank you :)

It was tiring, exhausting, nerve wrecking (when the baaraat showed up 2 hours late I thought my Dad would have a fit)painful..literally (excessive smiling and high heeled shoes and heavy earrings) as well as figuratively (annoying photographers / relatives/ acquaintances etc) and so on and so forth. And I loved every minute of it :D (even the rudolph bit...actually I was too tired to care)

Now,unfortunately Im back at work and I don't like it one bit.

Panchuda: May is a solid 2 months away Ims ure you can manage a mini post before

Reena, I forgive you child, you were sick. Where are your wedding pictures? Send quickly. How you doing now?

M we went to Manali. It snowed, and we freaked out. Will post very entertaining pictures of the boy attempting to ski soon.

Venky and GM, am having scond thoughts about putting rudolph pix on the Internet :P

DC: really? you mean that? I really hate being photographed.

    abhishek and josh: :D

  • Ok what sari did you wear for the biye? You look less hassled and more relaxed for the reception pictures...less tension and the knowledge that the madness is going to finally end i guess.

By Blogger Dreamcatcher, at 10:11 AM

  • You are the most radiantly beautiful bride I've ever seen. And Rahul-jamaibabu on a drunk horse? Biye'r aagai to nerves shot. He looks resplendent too, quite the knight in shining armour. Congratulations, didi. *hugs*
