Mothers sisters snakes and porcupines

Helloooo..Happy New Year to everybody once again. What did you all do on 31st??

I had a most adventurous weekend getaway in Coorg and have come to the conclusion that trekking can actually be fun provided I can come back to decent room with clean loos. Sleeping in a tent and all is not happening.

More about my Coorg holiday in next post, right now as promised have posted pics of my mommy with snake. She looks absolutely delighted with her life!! Also given below isa pic of my sister. My poor he steadied his hands to take pics of snake embracing Ma I really dont know.

Sister and sojaru (porcupine). I suppose I should be relieved that she isnt trying to embrace the porcupine. It looks kinda cute though, doesnt it?

Ma and snake. Please note, its not a python as I had said earlier, it is a boa constrictor (is that how you spell it?) My mother insisted that I correct that erroneous statement immediately.

  • Woah!..
those snaps look scary...kudos to ur mom for that!!

and hey..happy new yr to you!:-)

  • well boa constrictors too strangle their prey, if I'm not wrong! (was schooled in snakes by a cousin who was passionate about them for a month or so)

although, must say, its the snake that looks scared! :-D

  • @ekta: my mother is a very brave lady. unfortunately i have not inherited any of that bravado :(

@bangaloreguy: yes i believe they do. and i dont blame the poor snake for looking scared, draped around my mothers neck i would be scared too...very scared ;)

  • Yo Ron.
I looked up on the python and the boa constrictor and must say that's draped around your mother looks infinitely more like a Python than a Boa.

By the way, digressing from the topic, wasn't it a Boa which ate up that onagra in the Swiss family Robinson story ?

  • @soham: tomar aajke shotti beshi kaaj nei dekhchi. I dont know whether thats a python or a boa or a cobra...its a snake!! thats all i need to get completely stressed out. my mother said that the snake owner told her it was a boa therefore i said the same.

and yes it was a boa which ate up the onagra in swiss family robinson. thats the first thing i thought of when mom called me to tell me about the whole thing.

  • Woman, you have a brave mother! Just one look at that snake I was edging away from the computer screen inaudibly scraming in sheer terror for my own mummy...and python or constrictor, where's the difference, either one could kill me with one look!!!
oh, and Happy Happy Happy New Year to you!!! Lots and lots of love and best wishes to you and your brave family :D

  • @babelfish: my mother is absolutely fearless when it comes to the animal world. she has looked a black panther in the eye and lived to tell the tale(i would have died). but ask her to spend a night all alone in our flat and she will go to pieces. she will imagine robbers lurking in every corner and the slightest noise will seem like a theif in the house, she will tie door handles to windows, check for intruders under every bed and behind every door and generally be unable to sleep because of fear!!! amazing!!

@death: thank you for the kind words about my mommy. she is indeed super cool!! and will convey your new years to her most definitely. coorg trip details coming up in next post :)

@whoever keeps deleting comments: please dont do that...let the comemnt always consumed with curiousity as to who what why etc etc :)

  • Even the people around her look awed. A brave lady indeed.
    And Happy new year :)
